Digital fabrication MAA 2007/2008 [class work] CNC / 3d printing machine / Laser Cutter

1.- The mistakes morié was developed with a 3-axis CNC machine milling a foam surface.” The inclusion, development, propagation, existence, replication, acknowledgement, rights, patterns and beauty of what are commonly known as accidents, is encouraged. Furthermore, they have equal rights within the composition as deliberate, conscious, or premeditated compositional actions or decisions.” —took from Matthew Herbert’s P.C.C.O.M. Numeral 5

2.- The matrix was made using RAPID PROTOTYPING numeric fabrication processes, printing with a 3D PRINTER machine. The reflection… The SIMULACRA… The PRIDE.

3.- The UNfinished tube was made using a Laser Cutter, cutting plywood of 3mm, The inclusion of random colors and lines over the non-cut plywood sheet and also adding random projected colors over the (un)finished-model, just for the photo-shooting session, reinforces the effect of the curved shapes made by straight lines. And encourages the ephemeral as a characteristic of any digital intervention…mostly the built ones.

Non-polar organization of the beams was used in order to reinforce the some-times-misunderstood-flexibility of the GRID grid only visible on top view— The holes are there because this-thing needs to breathdo you agree? …The un(finished) model is ready to be plugged…
